Offer a FREE report!
The oldest promotional trick on the Internet is still the best.
Nothing pulls response like offering a FREE report. Notice I put that word "FREE" in all capital letters. The Internet is driven on FREE information (so much so that a recent court case argued the Internet shouldn't be forced to make people register with a credit card because Internet info must be FREE!)
The easiest way to get a good FREE report to offer your customers and prospects is to use one written by somebody else. Every day I get notes from people asking if they can use one or more of my articles to send to customers. I always say "yes." It's good promotion for me, the writer. Most writers agree.
Subscribe to some of the newsletters that cover your area of interest. There's a good list at ezinesearch.com. When you see a good article that would interest your clientele, shoot an email to the author.
You can also write your own FREE report. It's easy. As writer Gary Christensen says, approach your report like you're writing a page of instructions. Keep things simple. People like to read fast and may not be that familiar with terms and concepts in your business.
Check your downtown library for books on your subject. It's OK to use somebody else's ideas as long as you put them in your own words (and it's also nice to give the original author credit).
Start your report by pointing out a problem the reader has. Make the problem sound even worse by piling on the difficulties they will encounter. Then offer two or three solutions or partial solutions.
Offer to give the reader more information and help. Include your contact info.
