Specialize For Bigger Bucks
Many people and companies will pay a LOT more for a service that specifically and deeply specializes in a particular area.
For example, a general family practice doctor can make good money, but a doctor who specializes as a brain surgeon can earn a lot more. A doctor who becomes one of the world's top authorities in frontal lobe head injuries can command even higher fees.
People who specialize and become known as a super-expert in a field can ask for much higher fees and get them without customers even blinking. In fact, your higher fee can often be an important factor in customers perceiving you as the ultimate expert.
"But I have to do all kinds of jobs in order to pay the rent!" you say. No problem. Continue to offer a wide variety of services. Pick one out that you do especially well. Highlight that service in your marketing. Use testimonials from customers, media, and other experts to show prospects you are one of the best.
