Get Listed On Yahoo!

Yahoo! is by far the most popular search engine on the Internet. A simple listing on Yahoo! can boost your hits by 2,000 per day.

The problem is Yahoo! still personally inspects each addition and only lists a small fraction of sites submitted.

*Yahoo likes link pages, so consider adding one to your site.

*If you're trying to get a second domain listed for the same company, make sure you use different contact information and present it in a new and unique way in a different category. Don't link back and forth between the first domain and the second. Keep them totally separate. Once they're indexed, then you can go back and link them together with no problem.

*If you have a regionally specific site, consider submitting it in that area. Regional submissions sometimes have an easier time getting in because editors don't have quite as many submissions. Also, submitting to a category that doesn't have too many entries may help you get in faster as well.

*The relevancy score for Yahoo appears to be based on the category followed by the title, description, and URL.

* If your website is tied to a particular event or news to where time is of the essence, you may have an easier time getting in the index.

No longer is Google supplying the secondary results for Yahoo!. They are supplying the primary results. So your directory listing will not bring you the traffic that it once did.
