Prospecting in Chat Rooms
Recently I asked Kevin Ammons how he built his massive downline of 1,000 people. Kevin told me he did it almost entirely in chat rooms on AOL.
I've heard others say this, too. One man told me getting new customers this way is "like shooting fish in a barrel."
Kevin says the key is to first develop a friendly relationship with prospects. You have to use the soft sell approach.
"People in general do not like being 'sold,' especially from someone online they've never met. Though they can see you in chat rooms, read your website, view posts on a bulletin board, you will need to build a reputation with them."
Chat rooms can also serve as a great training tool for new distributors. "They can watch the conversations that take place so they can duplicate it in their own chat rooms," Kevin says.
It is important to appear in the chat room at the same time every day or several days per week. Let visitors know what your chat room schedule is. You can become the resident expert visitors and regulars turn to.
