There is a large and growing selection of sites that will distribute your press release at no cost. All you have to do it sign up, then submit your release. Most are very easy to use and can get your release "out there" at no charge.

http://prweb.com This is the original free distribution service, but they recently started charging. Still, their fees are among the lowest and distribution has been dramatically improved. If you spend money to have your release distributed, you should include prweb.

It's very important to submit your release to your local radio, TV, and newspapers. They will usually be the first to give you coverage. Find them by searching Yahoo for "your town news media." All of your local media have web sites with their contact information. You can also find them in your local Yellow Pages.
